Position

The company is offering an exciting opportunity for a mechanically inclined and inventive individual to break into and/or increase their responsibilities in the Oil tool industry.

This individual will be responsible for the Assembly, testing, and inspection of various down hole tools, as well as working to improve the associated processes and activities carried out on the shop floor. An opportunity exists for the candidate to grow into a team leader position and grow a department critical to the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assembly

  • Write assembly instructions and checklists for existing product lines
  • Receive and organize completed products from manufacturers
  • Identify and maintain product records
  • Assemble products per an assembly checklist
  • Order hardware for assembly
  • Consistently look for ways to improve Assembly processes and associated tools

Testing

  • Develop & run test procedures, including required equipment and step by step test instructions
  • Help design, create, and fabricate test facilities for new tools and existing tools working with Engineering

QAQC

  • Oversee the QA/QC program
  • Record and document critical dimensions on each part
  • Perform visual checks prior to assembly and upon completion of assembly
  • Ensure test procedures and assembly procedures are being followed

Process Improvement

  • Help execute and manage companies safety program
  • Continually look for ways to improve processes
  • Keep the shop and associated tools clean and professional

Shop Coordination

  • Help order appropriate shipping material as required;
  • Ensure the shop is maintained in an organized and neat manner, including shop equipment
  • Ensure the shop can be used in an efficient manner
  • Help add additional shop assistants and temporary help as required
  • Assist in day to day shipping and receiving

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Diploma or Certificate with a Mechanical Background
2. Ability to read/understand drawings or prints
3. Knowledge about precision measuring equipment
4. Strong ability with various types of hand, air, and power tools
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
6. Stable work history with the proven ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
7. Positive attitude
