Stay Home Club (http://www.stayhomeclub.com) is seeking a part time studio assistant beginning this fall. Currently a one-woman show, I work out of my apartment in Verdun and the assistant will mostly hang out in a (large, cool, not depressing) basement where you’ll be set up with a computer and as much coffee as you can drink.
Tasks will be varied but include customer service (via email), inventory management and organization, communicating with wholesale accounts and suppliers, running small errands, research, a bit of book keeping / numbers stuff, packing & shipping orders, etc. Possibility of some screen printing work in the future. Some tasks will undoubtedly be mundane, but that’s what podcasts are for - right?
The ideal candidate will be Montreal-based, more organized than I am (not a difficult feat), will have a driver’s license and vehicle, will be able to stay cool-headed while dealing with demanding customers, will have a working knowledge of Photoshop, a working knowledge of Excel, be familiar with the screen printing process and have some experience with it. Eloquent written English is a must, written French skills would be considered a plus.
Excellent assets would include a familiarity with Canada Post and/or USPS (we deal with both), experience in e-commerce, familiarity with Shopify, ShipStation, FreshBooks or other accounting software, basic HTML skills, etc.
This position will be 6 hours, two days a week (currently aiming for Tuesday & Friday, but this is flexible) with remuneration of $14/hr. It will begin in mid September. Interviews will take place during the first two weeks of September.
