Subsurface (Former Employee) – Houston,Texas – 12 May 2013
Statoil has good benefits that are comparable with the industry. I will elaborate only on Houston Onshore. Not much to praise about. They lack established processes and nothing runs smoothly. The work environment is OPEN seating which is very stifling, distracting, and not set up for professionals of our trade. The management style is one sided and shallow. The politics are designed to confuse and made up to fit the situation at that time. Big turnover in employees over the last 5 years. Not much improvement since.
Principal Engineer Modifications (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 4 July 2017
Typical days went through with very high level of professionalism and respectful discussions on projects activities. There were plenty of opportunities to learn and interact with people within the organization with lots of experiences. Project management was practiced on an everyday basis.
Perhaps company's vision of the future may have been shared with employees in a clearer way and some decisions made may have been different.
Anyway, it's a great company.
Not clear vision for the future of the company in Canada.
Team Leader Operations Logistics, Transportation (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 7 February 2017
Statoil is a really open, caring company to work for. I enjoy working for Statoil and was sad to see they sold their Oil Sands Asset. Would to still be working for them as they were a great company to work for.
Team Member (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 12 January 2017
Statoil is a great company to work for. Unfortunately due to the current economy status Statoil will be letting people go. Statoil has given me an opportunity to expand my knowledge in the Finance Department where I have excelled in positions involving Accounts Payable, Treasury, SAP Training, and Requisitioning.
Great group of people to work with and good benefits package
Senior Performance Analyst (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 26 October 2015
A matrix organization that valued work/life balance. Excellent colleagues and still remain in contact with many. Customized SAP system and just implemented a internet based interface to extract financial reports more efficiently.
Plant Operator (Former Employee) – Conklin, AB – 30 August 2015
Statoil Canada Ltd. in Conklin Alberta is a SAGD plant. Shifts are 12 hours long starting at 6am or 6 pm; 7 days in 7 days out. Its a good place to learn as they have a very good training program. Management and co-workers are very friendly and helpful. They have a state of the art camp, excellent pay and benefits.
