Vice President (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 12 January 2018
Statoil is an an excellent employer especially for those with an interest in innovation and sustainability. As with any O & G company there will be ups and downs however Statoil's Executive works hard to minimize adverse impacts during challenging economic times.
INT. PROCUREMENT ANALYST (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 4 January 2018
The benefits and incentives are good but what makes people spend years at Statoil is really the people. I was fortunate to have great management my entire time there. The workplace culture is relaxed and a work/life balance is appreciated. Your workload is yours to manage yourself; you are not micro-managed.
The most challenging part of the job is the fact that the head office is international and sometimes the decisions taken for the local offices are tone deaf due to the distance.
Senior Electrical Engineer (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 23 December 2017
Good company with Norwegian culture Management don't need to be a technical expert different approach to project management define software for some process not a global company difficult decision making many projects
not a global company, no job security if you are not norwegian
Startup Process Advisor (Former Employee) – Tjeldbergodden, Norway – 12 October 2017
Statoil was a great place to work. The Norwegian work culture places a higher emphasis on family life balance than other places i have worked. A highly skilled and educated workforce. They say you can either win the lottery or work for Statoil.
Principal Engineer Modifications (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 4 July 2017
Typical days went through with very high level of professionalism and respectful discussions on projects activities. There were plenty of opportunities to learn and interact with people within the organization with lots of experiences. Project management was practiced on an everyday basis.
Perhaps company's vision of the future may have been shared with employees in a clearer way and some decisions made may have been different.
Anyway, it's a great company.
Not clear vision for the future of the company in Canada.
Team Leader Operations Logistics, Transportation (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 7 February 2017
Statoil is a really open, caring company to work for. I enjoy working for Statoil and was sad to see they sold their Oil Sands Asset. Would to still be working for them as they were a great company to work for.
Team Member (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 12 January 2017
Statoil is a great company to work for. Unfortunately due to the current economy status Statoil will be letting people go. Statoil has given me an opportunity to expand my knowledge in the Finance Department where I have excelled in positions involving Accounts Payable, Treasury, SAP Training, and Requisitioning.
Great group of people to work with and good benefits package
Senior Performance Analyst (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 26 October 2015
A matrix organization that valued work/life balance. Excellent colleagues and still remain in contact with many. Customized SAP system and just implemented a internet based interface to extract financial reports more efficiently.
Plant Operator (Former Employee) – Conklin, AB – 30 August 2015
Statoil Canada Ltd. in Conklin Alberta is a SAGD plant. Shifts are 12 hours long starting at 6am or 6 pm; 7 days in 7 days out. Its a good place to learn as they have a very good training program. Management and co-workers are very friendly and helpful. They have a state of the art camp, excellent pay and benefits.
