Fun place to work
Producer (Current Employee), Broken Arrow, OKOctober 23, 2014
Great co-workers, but very low pay for the amount of work. It was a challenging job at first, but once you understand the selling method you can potentially make a good living.

Agents are independent contractors who have no HR department to hold them accountable for their actions so they typically aren't ideal to work for.

State Farm Insurance Company
Associate Agent (Current Employee), Lexington, SCOctober 22, 2014
Pros: freedom to express different ways to function in the sales work place
Work at State Farm usually began with a team meeting so that we could discuss the days goals and the previous days activities. We learned form those meetings ways to improve each day to day activity such as the sales cycle, customer retention and other operations throughout the office. The work environment was also a plus, having a team that I can relate – more... to was a great aspect of the work day. Because once I had an issue we as a team could bounce ideas of one another so that each person could gain valuable experience that could help each of us do our jobs better each day. – less

Good professional work environment
Office Assistant/Receptionist (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAOctober 22, 2014
Pros: learned to work in a professional work environment
A typical work day included standard office assistant work such as answering the phone, organizing and filing paperwork, cleaning up around the office and other duties.

I learned what it was like to be in a professional work setting, management was fine and told me what would be expected each day.

Standard receptionist/office assistant job. There – more... is a high standard set for the employees and as long as you are willing to work hard, there is room for growth. – less

Hampton Office is a Dead-End Job
Front Office Manager & Service/Sales Specialist (Former Employee), Hampton, GAOctober 20, 2014
Pros: a very low, yet steady paycheck, events were fun, nice customers in general
Cons: bad owner, no room to advance, horrendous call lists
The company is supposed to be about working towards becoming your own office. Brakefield State Farm does not promote employees into proper programs and the owner actually comes up with excuses why it "isn't time yet" to do so. Other local State Farms try to help agents into the programs immediately. The turnover rate at this location is absolutely insane – more... (10-18+ people over the course of 2 years). The boss did not seem to care very much about employees and didn't understand many crucial elements of the company which often resulted in excess work and frustration for employees. – less

Licensed Representative/Personal Assistant (Former Employee), Louisville, GAOctober 20, 2014
Pros: ray mitchell
Cons: he retired.
I wish the agent hadn't retired. State Farm is a stable company with hefty financial backing. Working in an agent's office is awesome if you have a good agent...and this agent is the absolute best.
