StarDyne Technologies Inc. is actively seeking a Human Resources Manager for their Government Solutions & Asset Management Divisions (GSD & AMD respectively).
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for human resource management for two of StarDyne’s operating companies Tempest Development Group (Surrey, BC) and Pacific Alliance Technologies (Vancouver, BC). Areas of responsibility include lawful employment practices, positive employee relations, providing leadership in promoting a diverse work force, integrating the core values of the organization into the culture, assessing the need of management training and development programs and ensuring equitable and competitive programs are administered. This position requires a high energy “hands-on” generalist who is capable of managing all aspects of HR from administration to strategy.
The Human Resources Manager reports to the COO AMD, with a dotted line report to the GM’s of Tempest and PAT, and the VP HR StarDyne Technologies Inc.
The position is based in the Greater Vancouver area.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
− Support and reinforce the Triple Bottom Line – Employee Satisfaction, Client Satisfaction and Financial Satisfaction - in keeping with the core value of fair, dignified and courteous treatment of all employees.
− Provide strategic and tactical leadership and execution in critical business initiatives.
− Assist management in defining & successfully implementing processes in line with business objectives and participate in strategic talent management/ development.
− Recruit, train, develop and retain personnel.
− Ensure that all employment practices are consistently applied by management in accordance with HR policies, employment law and regulatory compliance requirements.
− Ensure an efficient system of attracting and pre-screening applicants in accordance with the Recruitment Checklist.
− Full execution of the recruitment process (including job posting, phone interviewing, job interviewing, regular communication with candidates and managers) including recruitment administration.
− Enhance the workplace environment to foster self-reliant, innovative, productive l and engaged employees.
− Facilitate resolution with management regarding performance issues and disciplinary actions.
− Oversee the analysis of termination recommendations and ensure the appropriate process is followed.
− Work collaboratively with staff to ensure that new employees are successfully oriented into the company.
− Assist with annual performance management and merit review/incentive processes.
− Monitor the formal employee recognition programs. Assist supervisory and management staff in improving the effectiveness of employee recognition.
− Effectively present critical HR information to audiences at different levels.
− Guide leaders/managers through complex employee relations issues
− Collaborate with the HR Team on development and distribution of annual employee survey/internal pulse check. Work with management teams to respond to employees, develop action plans around responses.
− Serve on planning and policy-making committees as required.
− Perform other management responsibilities as assigned.
Education & Experience Required:
− Minimum 5 years Human Resource level management experience.
− University degree in business or equivalent experience.
− CHRP designation is preferred.
− 3–5 years of leadership experience.
− Proven experience with successfully recruiting and retaining personnel.
− Demonstrated experience in developing personnel.
− Knowledge and experience in employment legislation and practices.

− Ability to build strong working relationships and maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations.
