St. Lawrence Academy (SLA) is a JK – 6 co-ed, independent day school with a vibrant student body located in the heart of Eastern Ontario. The St. Lawrence Academy is actively seeking dedicated elementary teachers, who are in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. They will hold primary and junior qualifications, with appropriate experience to be part of a complementary faculty capable of maintaining the ongoing standard of excellence at this JK to grade 6 independent school.
The candidate should have a thorough knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and will be responsible for the development and delivery of creative and innovative, comprehensive programming. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, collaborative teacher who provides a learning environment that supports a variety of learning styles and educational needs.
He/she will report to the Head of School and will be responsible for ongoing progress evaluations, ensuring the educational, emotional and developmental needs of a diverse group of learners are met. Candidates should be effective communicators who demonstrate initiative, integrity, attention to detail, and demonstrate the ability to work in a team orientated environment.
Candidates should hold an Ontario Teacher Certification or equivalent, with previous classroom experience.
