Support Services Director – Permanent Full Time – to start July 15, 2013.
St. John's Centre provides independent, affordable retirement living with support services for seniors 65 and over.
Reporting to the CEO, the Support Services Director is a professional, responsible for assisting tenants to maintain their independence through meaningful and relevant support services in accordance with standards set by the Ministry of Health, Long Term Care Division and all other regulatory bodies. The 24/7 support services are contracted out to a community agency.
Having a working knowledge of community services the Support Services Director will develop, implement and evaluate supportive services to tenants in order to achieve effective outcomes, taking action to avoid or solve problems and creating opportunities for positive change. This can be accomplished with an understanding of geriatric needs, compassionate crisis management/problem solving and regular assessments.
Developing accurate and current statistical reports are essential. According, computer skills and effective organizational skills are required. Duties include reconciling monthly billing, adhering to budget guidelines and liaising with health care agencies, contract personnel and their head office.
A flexible individual with the ability to work independently while team building, who has leadership and excellent oral and written communication skills will be the successful applicant.
A post-secondary diploma/degree in human services and/or nursing is required. RPN or RN experience is preferred, along with a sound knowledge of the InterRAI Cha.
