Position Title Business Development Representative Reporting to Director of Business Development and General Manager

Position Objective

This is a high-impact role within SPUD’s Calgary operation. The primary goal of the Business Development Representative is to increase revenues within the Office Program. The goal of increased revenues will be achieved by increasing the number of customers ordering from SPUD, and increasing revenues through internal sales programs to existing customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

  • Manage existing Office Program customers
  • Increase the number of Office Program customers
  • Increase Office Program revenues through internal sales programs
  • Communicate professionally at all times

Cross Functional Responsibilities

  • Work as a team player with all team members and departments
  • Other duties as required by supervisor

Marketing Responsibilities

  • Run marketing programs at the workplace for office customers, with the intention of promoting SPUD’s home delivery service
  • Coordinate and participate in community events as a SPUD representative and advocate

Qualifications

  • Prior sales or marketing experience an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Preference for Bachelor’s of Business Administration or Commerce

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable about consumer products and delivery services
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective communicator, specifically over the phone and in face-to-face meetings
  • Strong written communication skills required
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Self-motivated and ability to execute on tight timelines
  • Ability to present and discuss marketing programs in face-to-face, business-to-consumer settings
  • Driver’s license and car required

Probationary Period

The probationary period for this position is three (3) months.

Hours of Work

Full-time salary, Monday to Friday.

Available for evenings and weekends

Compensation

  • Salary
  • Commission bonus on new corporate Office Program accounts
  • Ongoing commissions on Office Program revenues
