Sprague-Rosser is seeking experienced Planner/Schedulers for a project site located near Regina, Saskatchewan and in our head office in Edmonton, Alberta. The Planner/Scheduler reports to the Director, Construction and is responsible to build, update, and report on project schedules and progressions.

Responsibilities:

 Provides technical and/or management support and works collaboratively with operations staff to ensure that the project schedule is maintained to client’s satisfaction and where possible exceed expectations.
 Prepare and maintain complex engineering, procurement and construction schedules for projects.
 Prepare reports for Operations Team and Management regarding project scheduling activities.
 Perform detail follow-up on the progress of engineering and construction based on the earned value methodology.
 Review and incorporate vendor and client schedules into the Master Schedule.
 Provide recommendations for corrective action due to delays in certain aspects of the project.
 Develop schedules in Primavera for projects during all stages of the project.
 Work with client staff and sub-contractors to develop and status schedules for their project components.
 Ensure Project Schedule activities are coded by the project work breakdown structure for cost / schedule integration and analysis.
 Ensures the correctness of Engineering Schedules and Procurement.
 Define and optimize critical paths, perform total float analysis and notify project management status of critical activities and schedule risks.
 Conduct “what-if” scenarios, recovery plans, contingency planning and schedule compression techniques.
 Support monitoring of contract actual progress versus planned progress and key performance indicators, provide exception reporting, and recommend actions.
 Produce consolidated progress reports and analysis with bar charts, S-curves, manpower histograms, and Schedule Performance Indexes
 Provide support on development of project cost expenditure forecast curves
 Perform schedule risk analysis (gather data, input data, analyze, report) on a periodic basis or as required
 Seek innovation in scheduling and execution plans that could improve project economics.

Requirements:

 At least 5 (five) years of experience working in a technical role with an Industrial Construction organization.
 At least 2 (two) years of experience in a planner/scheduler role.
 Experienced working with Primavera Project Planner (P6).
 Completion of post-secondary education in engineering or engineering technologist would be considered an asset.
 Administration experience on an industrial construction project would be considered an asset.
 Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
 Must have strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
 Advanced to expert competency level with Microsoft Excel and Word.
