Sprague-Rosser is a civil and industrial contractor that is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics for an industrial project near Moosejaw, Saskatchewan. We work with a diverse range of equipment across Alberta and Sackatchewan and offer great exposure to different types of machines and project sites.
Responsibilities:
Diagnoses equipment problems and determines repairs needed
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
Performs daily safety and maintenance checks
Repairs, overhauls, maintains, and services heavy construction equipment (excavators, graders, dozers, loaders, skid steers, packers, rock trucks, dump trucks etc.)
Repairs, overhauls, maintains and services fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, engine control systems,
major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installation and alignment of engines and machinery
Repairs, overhauls, maintains and services drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, power take-offs, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, vehicle brake systems, wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering
Practices workplace safety
Knowledge:
Knowledge of operation of excavators, front end loaders, dozers, graders, compactors, and other pieces of heavy equipment
Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage procedures
Knowledge of workplace & equipment safety requirements and procedures
Knowledge of record keeping systems
Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures
Skills:
Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
Determine extent of repair required
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
Test repaired equipment for proper performance
Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
Service attachments and working tools
Analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
Effective verbal and listening communications skills
Ability to read and write to keep daily records including maintenance reports and work order documentation
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years mechanic experience (as a ticketed / Journeyman mechanic)
Willingness to work out of town if required
Valid Driver’s License with clean Drivers Abstract
Rates & Incentives:
Edmonton Shop Journeyman rate is $43.00/hour + $5.00/hour Field Premium + $1.00/hour Tool Allowance + Annual Boot Allowance
