The Account Director will act as the leader of the Company's studio in Montréal and key liaison between Company and its clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining a reliable relationship with key client stakeholders. The Account Director will act as the direct line of contact for our clients and be responsible for expanding and growing the Company/Client relationship and business opportunities. This individual must be highly organized, methodical, and able to direct their staff in prioritizing a multitude of tasks under the pressure of tight deadlines. This includes coordinating all elements of assigned projects ranging from talent/crew sourcing, scheduling, photo shoot planning and budgeting. This individual must be skilled in creating and maintaining organizational workflow efficiencies while overseeing the development of staff.
The Account Director position will report to the VP of Creative Development.
o Oversee and manage studio budgets including developing estimates, client billing and payroll approval for both employees and freelance talent
o Assess the urgency of client requests and make informed decisions that support client’s needs and objectives while maintaining proper balance with studio schedules and workflows
o Provide a consistently efficient and organized environment that can handle high volume while maintaining quality of product line, premium still life and editorial photography
o Prioritize multiple projects for studio team under urgent and sometimes overlapping deadlines
o Comprehend and negotiate rates with agencies, outside vendors and talent
o Recognize and generate new client business opportunities
o Liaise with key Company and key Client team members to create ever-greater efficiencies within Company and Client workflows
o Lead and be a part of an energetic and positive team; engage in client research and collectively produce creative presentation drafting and finalize proposals, developing and analyzing pricing structure and presenting client pitches
o Work collaboratively across client brands, departments and senior management to effectively manage requests across department.
o Develop an appropriate talent resource structure to support the organization for immediate needs with an eye to the longer term
o Identify, recruit and train the talent and staff required to maintain this structure; cross-train to support various roles as assigned

o 10 years of retail, eCommerce or commercial photography experience, including 5+ years’ experience in managing a photo & production team, scheduling resources appropriate to job requirements & volume
o Operating in a constantly evolving environment characterized by fast and changing deadlines.
o Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken (not required, but preferred)
o Level of comfort with information technology, ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently
o Strong Mac computer skills, Including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Keynote and InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, FTP software and C1 Pro
o Strong understanding of lighting and photography, both technically and creatively
o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Photography, or Marketing & Advertising or work-experience equivalent
