Working for Sperry was overall a horrible experience. You spend months working across the country, with no promise of returning. It was normal to work 6 months without getting home. They can not get many people to stay, so even getting vacation time will be hard.
The pay was not worth you being away from home, and being stressed out. Lots of overtime though.
Your job was pretty secure due to people always quitting, and the company pretty desperate for anyone.
Managers and the company treated you as just another number. No one ever seems to know whats going on.
Everyone including managers seemed to be only doing the job, because it was a job or using it as a stepping stone to actually get into a railroad company.
