The South Calgary Primary Care Network (SCPCN) is an innovative, publicly funded health care initiative that is changing the way primary health care is delivered in Alberta. SCPCN is one of 40 Primary Care Networks in Alberta, servicing the population living within the South Calgary area. SCPCN is a group of Family Physicians, working with Alberta Health Services and other health professionals, to coordinate the delivery of primary health care services and provide customized programs to address local needs. Human Resources Business Partner/Advisor
Description
The SCPCN is seeking an experienced human resources professional to support the SCPCN and the Family Physicians Practices in the PCN area. In this newly developed role, you will lead the SCPCN human resources initiatives through collaboration with a team of allied healthcare professionals. This is a stand alone position that will work closely with the Executive Director in the development of HR policies, procedures and practices. You will provide guidance and expertise to the SCPCN internal team, as well as providing consulting services to physicians within the SCPCN area. Flexibility and the ability to work independently are critical as this role will develop and evolve over time.
Responsibilities
Provide human resources advice and support to SCPCN business groups and their support teams on employee relations, human resources policies and procedures, and legislative compliance
Work to develop relationships and provide human resources advice and support to the physicians across the 35 Family Physicians Practices in the PCN area (which could include visiting the clinics up to two days per week)
Consult on issues related to workplace relations, performance management, staff development, and compensation
Job evaluation, staffing, recruitment and selection strategies, and facilitation of the recruitment process from advertising through to completion of employment offers
Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures for effective HR management
Provide advice and play a major role in work area reviews and change processes
Assist with coordination of tracking and reporting on the performance of company and individual goals and objectives
Coordination of and participation in the new employee orientation and on boarding process
Maintenance of employee personnel files, employee databases and company organizational chart, ensuring that HR information is updated and maintained accurately
Provide HR administrative support, including preparation of contracts, reports, spreadsheets, letters, and presentations, and coordination and completion of office tasks
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices throughout the organisation
Education
Certificate or Degree in Human Resources (or current enrolment in program)
Qualifications/Experience
Minimum of six (6) years of progressive human resources experience in a generalist capacity; requires ability and willingness to do ‘hands-on’ generalist duties
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
Strong relationship building skills and ability to function effectively as a member of an inter professional team
Proven experience partnering with internal business clients in the development and delivery of HR programs and initiatives
Flexibility and proven experience in balancing competing priorities and juggling a variety of client groups
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to exercise independent judgment
Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with high attention to detail
Self-motivated and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Ability to work in a confidential capacity; high level of professionalism
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
