As the Sous Chef at one of our corporate accounts, you will be responsible for food production, as well as directing and coordinating employee activities. You will follow all the different Sodexo Programs: Food Safety, Health and Safety, policies and procedures, as well as marketing. This includes managing employees, scheduling, stocking, receiving, coordinating product levels, food cost, labour cost & products etc. It is a very hands on role. We are a high end, executive dining environment. Services ranging from lunch for 2 to 200, and cocktail parties of up to 150, where canapés are made in house. We are looking for a mature, reliable sous-chef who can produce creative, appropriate dishes for clientele, as well as assist in managing and developing a diverse team with a wide range of skill levels. Growth and Development:
· Red Seal Certified Chef Certification
· A minimum of 3 – 5 years in a similar role
· Ability to analyze and interpret financial information related to food, menu planning and labour costing
· Experience supervising a team, including experience managing long term employees
· Experience cooking authentic multicultural cuisines and continental cuisine
· Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
· Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
· Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
· Financial and business development experience
· Ability to develop new and innovative menus
· Responsible for monitoring employees to ensure health and safety procedures are being followed
· Establishes and maintains a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment
· Motivates and develops staff including cross training.
