POSITION SUMMARY:

The roll of a General Help is to assist with Cleaning, organization, stocking and minor food prep to keep an efficiently run kitchen, Following Safe Food handling and HACCP guidelines
Accountable to the management team for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of their area
And quality of their work

General Help is to perform some or all of the following duties:

  • Doing Dishes for 200 + people by hand or using dishwasher
  • Perform FIFO procedures as needed
  • Follow all set guidelines for food safe operation
  • set up buffets
  • clean kitchen and work area
  • Assist with unloading groceries
  • Organizing storage areas
  • Clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
  • Portion, assemble, and wrap food or place it directly on plates for service to Clients, Use equipment to prepare hot beverages such as coffee
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars
  • Clear and clean tables and trays in eating establishments
  • Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas
  • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and in serving areas
  • Wash and peel vegetables and fruit
  • Wash work tables, cupboards and appliances
  • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
  • Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas
  • Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Specific Physical Characteristics and abilities are required to perform the work such as agility, dexterity and long period standing bending carrying or lifting supplies weighing 50 pounds or more.

Requirements:

WHIMIS Provided online if not current
Food Safe

Fitness Testing & Drug / Alcohol Screening is required Sodexo will provide appointment Date and times
for Site Access

Non Slip Footwear is Required and mandatory at cost of Employee
Uniforms are provided
