Dietary Aide (Casual) - Sodexo Canada (Vancouver General Hospital)
We are busy! Sodexo has a number of Casual Dietary Aide roles to fill. If you are seeking flexible hours this may be your new position. You must be available Mon – Sunday (7 days). Shifts available for this role start at 6:30 am and late shifts up to 9:30 pm. If you are looking to start a new career and grow, Sodexo is a great choice!
As a Casual Dietary Aide in one of our Sodexo Acute Care Accounts you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the kitchen. You will ensure all quality standards are met and use your excellent customer service skills to foster a positive, patient-focused work environment. Your role is responsible for serving food, delivering food, and associated cleanup and dishwashing, while meeting food quality and safety standards. You may also be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a safe and appetizing manner.
- Work with and support the Sodexo Health & Safety Program, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS Regulations, and the safety of all employees in the workplace by working in a safe manner, following all policies, guidelines and regulations.
- Foster a positive work environment
- Maintain strong communication with supervisors and management to maintain high quality of service regarding patient needs, service levels, etc.
Previous Dietary Aide experience is an asset
Physical ability to complete job tasks.
Foodsafe Level 1
English written and verbal communication skills required
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
You must complete a criminal background check pre-orientation
You must have up to date vaccinations pre-orientation (Tetanus, Diptheria, Polio, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Hepatitis A & B, Tuberculosis screening) and provide records.
Excellent time management and problem solving skills required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing work routines or priorities.
