Purpose:
Skyplan has a new and exciting opportunity that would allow you to be part of an exciting, dynamic and passionate team of aviation professionals in the capacity of Manager, Flight Dispatch. This is an exceptional opportunity for a proven operations leader to lead a very talented group of individuals in a progressive organization with customers worldwide.

This position will oversee all aspects of Flight Dispatch including the daily activities, Dispatcher training and Flight Dispatch procedures. This position will lead and inspire a dedicated group of Operations personnel to deliver Skyplan’s remarkable customer service.

Responsibilities:
The Manager, Flight Dispatch shall:

  • Responsible to ensure that all Flight Dispatch activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory compliance requirements;
  • Responsible for the development, documentation and delivery of all flight dispatch certification and training programs;
  • Responsible for all day-of Flight Dispatch activities and decision-making;
  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the Skyplan dispatch team; workforce planning, employee motivation & support, change management, performance management and employee development;
  • Build relationships to ensure organizational readiness to meet changing industry demands as it relates to our overall operational excellence;
  • Identify strategic and forward-thinking projects to increase/enhance/simplify operational processes;
  • Responsible for workforce planning, recruiting and scheduling of flight dispatch staff
  • Provide 24/7 escalation support for dispatchers;
  • Develop, implement and maintain continuous improvement principles, including measurement and feedback mechanisms for the Flight Dispatch team;
  • Assist with the development of operational processes that support safety and time performance initiatives;
  • Participate in the development of annual budget and strategic planning;
  • Responsible for the development and communication of standards, guidelines and procedures for the Flight Dispatch Team;
  • Share knowledge, learning, ideas and feedback in an open and constructive way to contribute to the development of a stronger customer motivated organization;
  • Liaise with external agencies, vendors and clients;

Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum 5 years Dispatch experience
  • Previous experience in an leadership role
  • Must hold or have held a Canadian Dispatch Certificate
  • Proven track record in driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience successfully implementing and developing & delivering training material an asset
  • Experience with Operational software systems associated with Flight Planning, & Aircraft Performance
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Transport Canada CARS & CASS (as applicable)
  • Proven track record as an exceptional leader, team player and team builder
