Superb learning culture with a great work/life balance and benefits
Program Director (Former Employee), Toronto – December 11, 2014
Pros: home office
A typical day at work would involve several meetings and engaging work. I would utilize my design and creativity to assist CGI in solving business objectives by implementing the SkillSoft products and services and marketing them. Each day there was something new to learn since we would need to "walk the talk" and also ensure that we were up to speed on the products and services offerings. The hardest part of the job was balancing the multiple priorities and projects within the 74,000 employee program I supported while ensuring that what was delivered was of top-notch quality. The most enjoyable part of the job was enriching people's lives by teaching, advising and coaching them.
Account Executive (Current Employee), remote – December 23, 2014
Pros: flexibility, benefits
My direct manager was great, but when you get into the upper levels of leadership, they don't do a very good job of supporting the sales force and helping us feel valued.
Benefits are good and the work-life balance is as well. Other than upper management, the people at Skillsoft are all great as well. It is a sales-driven organization, so the bulk of employees are salespeople.
Although the lessons are very good it is impossible to print class certifications. After taking some of the 6-8 hours courses, I would like to be able to download/print a certificate but this has been an ongoing problem.
Job Work/Life Balance
Fast-paced, challenging environment
Senior Program Manager/Program Manager (Current Employee), Nashua, NH – February 28, 2013
Skillsoft is a leading provider of e-learning solutions on a global basis. The number and diversity of languages that the content and learning management system must support makes rolling out a new content type and/or feature in the LMS quite challenging. The program management office has worked hard to bring software development life cycle processes into the organization, and the effort continues today. While sometimes chaotic, life at Skillsoft is never dull.
