Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC, www.wcmrc.com) is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization, whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an oil spill occurs on the West Coast of Canada. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public. WCMRC’s customer base includes oil handling facilities, barging companies, freighters visiting our ports, ferries, cruise ships, US bound vessels traveling through Western Canada waters and others including, but not limited to, forest industry facilities, fish camps and float plane companies.
WCMRC is seeking a Manager, Information Systems who will have overall responsibility for the information technology in support of the achievement of organizational goals. They will assess existing technology (systems and processes) to identify technical requirements to accommodate the strategic corporate growth plans. They will communicate with internal IT clients/stakeholders to ensure IT is meeting their business requirements and that IT is a key part of the strategic planning process. In addition, the Manager will provide project management expertise from the selection to implementation of new IT systems.
You have several years of progressively responsible strategic IT leadership in addition to a solid grounding in IT functional and technical areas. You have developed IT systems and successfully managed IT selection and implementation projects. You possess a post-secondary degree in an IT related field and a PMP designation would be desirable. You are a proactive learner who stays current with IT trends and strategic developments.
Additionally, you should have the ability to efficiently operate in an entrepreneurial, high growth organization. You are equipped with the skills to build an IT team, to communicate, influence, negotiate and build relationships to work collaboratively with leaders, direct reports and external partners. You also have a strong sense of accountability for the effective utilization of financial resources and the ability to assess and manage risk and take prudent, proactive action to minimize material risks.
