The Athletics Sponsorship Coordinator will be responsible for engaging new corporate partners for Clan Athletics and nurturing existing relationships. This position is also responsible for other administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Director Athletics & Recreation and/or his designate. This position reports to the Sports Information Director.

Core responsibilities and priorities:

  • Pursue new partners through relationship building and cold calling
  • Build partnerships that will help solidify the brand of Clan Athletics in the community
  • Present contract proposals to prospective partners in consultation with senior staff
  • Secure promotional products to cross promote SFU Athletics and partners
  • Sell signage in Athletic facilities, program ads, website ads, in game promotions, promotional materials and webcast properties and coordinate production of items sold
  • Responsible for all invoicing and tracking in regards to partnerships
  • Meeting quarterly sales targets
  • Develop new revenue streams for the department
  • Ensure all partnership activity is compliant with Simon Fraser University and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Assist in the development, execution and administration of sponsor deliverables


  • Minimum one year experience in sales, preferably in the sports industry
  • Experience in customer service management
  • Superior organizational skills and able to function in fast-paced, multitask setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office is required and an understanding of Adobe Creative Suite would be considered an asset
  • Must be able to work in Canada
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Terms: Contract
Salary: $24,000 per annum plus bonuses
