Pharmacy Assistant (Former Employee), Newmarket, ON – July 22, 2013
A typical day was organized and flowed smoothly Team work is key, and there are incentives to show pride in your work. The hardest part for myself is becoming comfortable with regular customers and theyre specific requirements. I enjoyed very much working in an environment where everyone helped eachother out.

I assist customers (Current Employee), Toronto, ON – July 16, 2013
Pros: free product
Cons: long commute
A typical day at Shoppers, would be to start at 4pm, make sure that all the shelves in the departments were faced, cleaned and organized. Then it would be to man the cosmetics floor and assist any customers. Management and co-workers were great, friendly and helpful. Hardest part of the job for me was the commute, since I take public transit it took – more... me an hour and a half to get there every day. Most enjoyable job was being able to assist customers, and use my knowledge of makeup I required from schooling. – less
Assistant Manager (Former Employee), Ottawa, ON – July 15, 2013
Good company to work for, but little chance of advancements. Management were good as were the co-workers. Hardest part of working for SDM was dealing with Senior Management. The most enjoyable part was dealing with customers whom I had served for many years.
Associate/Pharmacist (Former Employee), Hamilton, ON – July 10, 2013
Pros: good learning environment
Cons: life/work balance is hard to achieve
Sales and labor targets must be achieved on a weekly basis. A typical day in the job will start with walking the sales flour with the front store manger and/or part of his team to make sure the front shop is up to the standards. followed by dispensing at the pharmacy, which also included patient and pharmaceutical care. After my pharmacy work is done – more... I will spend some time reviewing my emails and going over the finances and/or working with the team on the job tasks we have to accomplish. I mostly learned how to achieve productivity during my day at work, manage several aspects of the business and connect the dots together. The hardest part was managing people....... I enjoyed every aspect of my job, taking care of my patient was the best part. . – less

Management (Current Employee), Edmonton, AB – July 4, 2013
Terrible morale. Could be good for students but even then most stores are open late. The discount is good especially on cosmetics. The people that work there are great if you exclude the management. I know too many ex-employees that have so many regrets about staying there as long as they did, most have moved on to bigger and better things. No Retirement – more... program even for managers and benefits are very minimal. – less
Cashier (Current Employee), Ottawa, ON – July 3, 2013
Pros: 30% discount, efficient equipment to work with, flexibility
Cons: having to work on holidays
Working at Shoppers has been a pleasure. Our computer system is very efficient and easy to use, management is generally very agreeable and pleasant to be around. Flexibility is awesome, especially for students. The 30% discount is fantastic... and I don't know my coworkers are all awesome and we hang out outside of work. The atmosphere is quite laid – more... back, and the store is bright and cheery. Was definitely a good experience. – less
Cosmetician (Former Employee), Toronto, ON – June 27, 2013
Working conditions and benefits are fairly good with this company. You will gain plenty of customer service, dealing with different people. Working as a cosmetician, I have gained a significant amount of information on skin types, right products and how to successfully sell them.
