Nice place to work
Cashier, Photo, Post Office, Merchandising (Current Employee), Niagara Falls, ON – February 4, 2013
Everyone works together, nice group of girls. Trained in all aspects of the job so every day that I work I am busy with different things to do. You get to know the regular customers and are able to help them with different things. You let them know the sales or give them a coupon to save a few dollars. They appreciate that and it makes me feel good – more... that I can make a difference in their lives. Even when they come in, in a bad mood, I can usually make them leave with a smile on their face. – less

A productive place to work, where there's always something to do.
Photo Lab / Customer Service (Current Employee), Greenwood, NS – February 4, 2013
A typical at Shoppers Drug Mart is full of customer service and responsibilities to keep the store shelves stocked and looking nice. I learned all about the printers, photo kiosks and how to take passport photos. My co-workers are excellent to work with and are always ready to help if I need it, and the manager is an understanding person. My favorite – more... part of the job is when I get to sell video games and get to share my knowledge about them. I also enjoy it when I help someone with the photo kiosks and they thank me for all my help, which is always a good feeling. – less

Productive Flexible and Fun Customer Service Experience
Cash Supervisor/ Cosmetician (Current Employee), Toronto, ON – February 3, 2013
Pros: flexible shifts
Cons: salary is not enough for amount of work you do
I have been working for Shoppers Drug Mart for 5 years. I really enjoy going to work everyday. I like the management and co-workers at my store. The job is very laid back. The only difficult part of the job is sometimes you have to stay on cash the entire 8 hour shift but you get used to it after awhile. Also you have to deal with superior customer – more... service, which is annoying and hard but thats with any customer service job. As a part-time employee they are vey flexible with the shifts and you can get however many shifts you want throughout the week. The only downside as a cash supervisor is that you are responsible for everything during your shift, sometimes if its busy you might not even get a break, and for all the work you do the salary is only $1 more than that of a cashier. Overall Shoppers Drug Mart is the perfect job to attain the most customer service experience. – less

Cashier
Customer Service - Cashier (Former Employee), Toronto – January 31, 2013
Pros: met people
Cons: tired feet
As a Cashier I put through the products people bought and it was good because most customers always commented on the fact that I had a nice smile and I would greet them in a positive way. If they needed help I went out of my way to assist anyway I could on my shift and if I was too busy at the cash, I would always make sure someone was available to – more... assist. I enjoyed it very much, sometimes actors showed up to buy products, it made my job interesting.

The hardest part of the job was being on my feet. I would be very tired at end of my shift.

My coworkers were good at making me laugh and supportive.

I learned that people are extremely important to the success of any business. You have to do your part to contribute and to always try to do a good job. – less

A relatively stressful working environment with great benefits and flexible hours
Cashier/Customer Service/Merchandiser (Former Employee), Richmond BC – January 29, 2013
Stressful working environment, management was friendly however seemed misguided as our store wasn't up to par as opposed to others. Was a good place to learn work ethics and gain customer service experience.

Worst Place I have worked at yet
Cosmetician (Former Employee), Hamilton, ON – January 25, 2013
Pros: gratis/training/customers
Cons: managment/staff/enviroment
I worked for Shoppers about 5 years and I moved around to about 4 locations but my last one was my worst. I found so much gossip ( worse than "usual" ) backstabbing was through the roof and girls were so Catty. I was having a great start to my new year with a steady job, found a home close to work, was getting married when for some reason managment – more... did not like me very much and tried to have me fired for reason i wasnt even sure they could let you go for until my cosmetic manager had enough battering from the FSM herself she finally transferred leaving us with a new CM whom had no idea what the FSM was up to with me, turns out when our CM was not in I had got into work one day only to be told i was being dismissed for allegidly "misusing" my discount. Needless to say i got a hold of everybody and I will NEVER work for a Shoppers EVER AGAIN, there was too much drama and not enough pay to be able to deal with it. – less

Fun but poor management
Cosmetician (Former Employee), Winnipeg, CA – January 17, 2013
Pros: close to home. friendly staff. never late hours. offered beauty seminars
Cons: poor management. high theft location. robberies
I loved working at Shoppers Drug Mart.
I really enjoyed the client-ail and the people I worked with.
Shoppers did have a good computer system for Stock and payment options. Unfortunately the management wasn't as organized and as friendly as I've heard other companies are. I would like to find a job where the management is friendly, positive and supportive.

Exciting company with exceptional values and the opportunity for growth!
Cosmetic Manager (Former Employee), Mississauga, ON – January 17, 2013
Pros: fun in store events, great vendor training and workshops
Cons: uncertain hours at a part time level, too much competition within cosmetics
Great Company to work for and with. You truly feel as though you are a part of a family! There are so many areas for growth at the store level, along with head office and vendor opportunities. I would definetly recommend them as an employer!
