Personal Support Worker, Brockville, ON - 11 April 2017
Doing my job is very rewarding at the end of the day, knowing I made a difference in someone's life. The empathy that is required of a PSW makes them vulnerable to the feelings of other, and the feelings of those confined to a nursing home are more painful than those encountered in any other situation of ‘normal’ life. It's much harder than dealing with the sights and sounds of a nursing home. It is much harder than helping them with their toileting, their bathing and their eating. This is why I love my job.
