Pros: everything is a pro.
I have worked for a few companys in my young life but i would have to say this job was not a job for me. I have never felt more like I belong at any job until this one. They treated me with respect and game me a home. The work was great I love the customers and the whole expeience. This is a great company.

I loved working here. Sometimes you get the occasional strange customer, but other than that, it was a fantastic way to meet travelers and hear all sorts of stories.

Cashier (Current Employee), Yardley, PaDecember 18, 2013
Pros: discounted food
Cons: no management positions available currently
Coworkers are friendly, as is the management, it is a joy to work here. The only downside is that there seems to be no room to progress in this company.

Great job, very busy,a all around good work place.
Cashier (Former Employee), Jacksonville, NCDecember 12, 2013
Pros: the award discounts
Cons: closing alot by yourself
I was in ten minutes early everyday. First I clock in then I set up my register. Prep what needs to be prepped then i wait for customers. Right before break time restock and prep again take out the trash and re-clean any area needed. I take a hour break and come back 10mins early. The hardest part is closing at the end of the night because usually its – more... only one cashier left at closing time but it didn't take me long to remember the steps to take to close down the right way and make it out at a good time. The most enjoyable part of the job had to be the friendly costumers that you meet. – less

My experience
Cashier (Former Employee), Blue Island, ILNovember 23, 2013
I learned alot of things when i was working at shell gas station, it was a lot of responsability for me and i was able to handle it. I pick't up things fast and i learned everything fast. I really like it, just the only thing it was that the manager fire me when i was in the hospital for 3 days, i still dont understand why they did that to me, her and – more... a Co-worker plan everything to fire me and thats the only thing that i didnt like, i try to talk to my manager but she never let me or she dont answer the phone, i been always responsible for my job and honest with everyone. But either way i enjoyed working there because i was helping customers and also it was alot of responsability that i was taking care off and i really liked it. – less

Stable, steady work place
Cashier (Former Employee), Gas City, INNovember 15, 2013
Pros: supportive management
Cons: only part time, and the pay is only min. wage.
This job was fairly simple. For the most part only one person works at a time, unless management is in. I didn't learn much, as it was only a cashier job. The management was great, they were always there any time to help. There was only one other co-worker, we never worked together. The hardest part of the job was memorizing the cleaning list and the – more... paper work. The most enjoyable part was meeting the variety of customers that would come in. – less

Evening Shift Supervisor (Former Employee), Angola, INNovember 13, 2013
Pros: shift worked well with personal life
Cons: having to clean the bathroom after late night drunks that got sick
The station was open 24hours and off major interstate. Learned to deal with vast number of different cultures of people from travelers to late nighters on their way home. It was fast paced at times and slow at others so you had to be self motivated to keep busy all the time. I enjoyed all the diversity but hated cleaning the bathrooms as some people – more... I found to be very inconsiderate and messy. – less

Competely outgoing.
Cashier / Customer Service (Former Employee), Tucson, AZOctober 9, 2013
Pros: always sales on certain products monthy. friendly staff.
Cons: always a chance of a robbery.
At a gas station people often go to, don't really see how much work gets put into one shift. They normally go in and get what they paid for and be on their way. A cashier in a gas station is in charge of the gas pumps, the merchandise, and propane tanks if any. We handle large amounts of cash on a hourly basis. It is our job to make sure that this money – more... gets dropped every chance we get to prevent money loss in case of a robbery. We are to log temperatures, order and check in merchandise, make coffee, stock shelves and rotate merchandise. In the manuscript as a gas station cashier it is very crucial that we check the identification when selling prohibited products to customers under a certain age limit. The result of a selling to minor is jail time and termination on the spot. the hardest part about working in this type of field is lifting heavy objects in high areas. but the most enjoyable part of this job is getting it done. – less

I enjoyed being a cashier, I met many new people I learned a lot about this job that being a cashier is not as easy as it looks. There are all kinds of machines that u learn while you hope people are patient enough.

Pros: i wasn't able to take lunch, because i never had anybody to cover my lunch or dinner!!
Cons: i couldn't take brakes at all ! nobody to cover my brakes!
Working in this place it was a very bad experience, because the environment it was very pour and negative.
I'm a people person and that was the fun time ! to be in touch with the customers.
