Who are we?

We are a small entrepreneurial company (20 people) who design & manufacture scuba diving computers which are sold around the world.
We are an ISO 9001:2008 certified organization.
We are the market leader in our sector and enjoy strong brand recognition.
We have been consistently growing at a minimum of 30% per year and expect to continue this level of growth.
We have a young, dynamic engineering team. We work hard and have fun.
If you are a scuba diver, or are interested in learning to dive, we will pay for your scuba diving courses.
We have flex time - as long as you put in your required hours, achieve your goals and are in the office for the core office hours.
We provide 5 personal days per year over and above your vacation allowance.
We provide fresh fruit & nuts weekly.
We have a foosball table, table tennis and a dart board.
We have company funded events & BBQ’s.

Responsibilities

Purchase raw materials and subcontractor services for production
Procure and compare quotes
Control inventory levels
Track and report order statuses; expedite/slow orders as required
Work with suppliers to accommodate fluctuations in demand
Prepare reports and for meetings as required
Miscellaneous duties as required; a smaller company like this requires the ability to take on new tasks as requested
Reports to the Production Manager

Who we are looking for

Min 3 years related purchasing experience
A degree/diploma in a related field would be an asset.
Familiarity with Lean/Kanban principles would be an asset.
Skilled at holding suppliers accountable in a collaborative and non-offensive way
Excellent communicator with ability to get co-workers and suppliers to buy into what you are trying to achieve.
Someone able to communicate effectively with different levels within the company including senior management, engineers and production staff; ability to modify your communication style to suit the situation
Someone comfortable with a lot of typing and answering of emails on a daily basis
Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience would be an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with ability to learn new programs as necessary
Must hold valid Class 5 driver’s license to be able to meet with suppliers off-site
