Very professional atmosphere, great bonus incentives
Sales Representative (On Star) (Former Employee), Sydney, NSOctober 19, 2014
Pros: great benefits, incentives and commission for sales
Cons: supervisor's yelling on the floor to get sales. customers can hear them
Productive and very friendly atmosphere. Co-workers were great to work with and always willing to help. They were very flexible and you could always attend an important appointment as long as you make up your hours. Incentives were good although sometimes hard
to achieve.

Great people, Great management and core values that everyone in the building buys into.
Sales Rep (Current Employee), Sydney River, NSJuly 14, 2013
Great place to work at. Alot of people are going to cut down call centers and places similar to them but the truth is they're actually not that bad. While working there wasn't my idle location at the time I accepted the job offer I have grown fond of my many co-workers and managers. Great bunch of people who are all dedicated to just a few simple core – more... values and they really make the place run. Their professionalism and customer service really open alot of doors for you in the future with that kind of experience under your belt.

I think for me the hardest part of the job is just getting over the nervousness and the intimidation of the fact you are calling people who may or may not be very annoyed / rude with you. When you get over that and realize that most of the people you call are either expecting your call, or unknowingly waiting for it, you really start to enjoy it.

Overall it's a great company to work for. They offer hourly wage with commission that really allows you to make more then you would think you could. If you're looking to make some good dough and meet new people and form new bonds, Servicom is a great place to be. – less

Great staff and managers,,,still keep in contact with alot of the staff there. Learned alot about computers there and how other companies – more... are run.Great experience for sure. – less

Fun Work Environment with favorable people
AMC Phone Sales Representative (Former Employee), Machesney Park, ILNovember 13, 2014
My work day started at 1:30 PM and ran til 10 PM at night. I would sit and call out to people introducing them to the Allstate motor club offering them a 2 month trail for $1.99. My co - workers where always smiling and joking around but that's what you did when you didn't have a customer on the line to keep yourself awake. The job wasn't boring it – more... was just mentally and emotionally draining, I learned how to not let the little things bother me so much, and that when a customer is angry and yelling at you it is not because they are angry with you but that they are angry with the company I was representing. The hardest part of the job is that not many of the customers wanted the motor club due to the fact that the head company had made a not so popular name with its customers but with the motor club I believed they were trying to rekindle the trust with their customers. The most enjoyable parts when me and my co-workers would just talk and get to know each other it was that everyone was truly family there it didn't matter the color of your skin your what differences you had it was about wanting to help one person grow and then help that person help another. – less

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Machesney Park, ILAugust 21, 2014
Pros: great customer service training, great quality coaching, great people to work with
Cons: very unorganized management
Pro's-
Great customer service training
Great quality coaching
Great people to work with
Lots of overtime because they need to fill hours for people who either quit, call- in or are terminated
Con's-
Very unorganized management....
1. When bonuses are offered , many times your checks are not correct-they tell you that you will get the money that is owed – more... to you on the next check which makes it hard to budget your pay.

2. They offer sick days but when you call in they put you as absent and you are responsible to let them know that your check is short and again they tell you that you will get your money on the next check.

3. Vacation hours are calculated every pay day but they do not post them on your checks so you do not know exactly how many vacation hours you have. Also, when you do request to use vacation hours; don't expect to get an answer back anytime soon. They expect you to give a 2 week notice but it can take several weeks for approval which makes it hard to plan a vacation especially if you are booking a flight.

4. Shifts change every 60-90 days so you never know what days off or hours you will be working. There are many single mother's there which makes it hard for them especially when they are using daycare.

5. Don't expect to get off on time because if you are on the phone with a customer you need to finish the call which makes sense. So don't plan on scheduling any appointments within the first half hour of getting off because you will probably be late. – less

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Machesney Park, ILJuly 16, 2014
On the phone trying to sell roadside assistance and obtain credit card information from the customer. Management expected you to be manipulative with the customer and this would only result in verbal abuse from the customers. Not allowed to miss work even if your sick and need to go to the hospital. I enjoyed nothing at all about this job.

A typical day at work was very up beat and positive environment. When working there I have learn to work well over the phone. I have learned good communication skills, and data entry skills. The coworkers were nice to work with. The hardest job sometimes was to get sales. The most enjoyable part was making sales goals of the week.

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Rockford, ILMarch 17, 2014
Pros: easy work
Cons: nothing
I would call people to conduct surveys about how customers like their cable service. There really wasn't much to learn. Conduct the surveys, input the response in the system and go to the next customer. Not much management was needed. The coworkers where very helpful and friendly.

Their was no hard part about the job. The coworkers made it very easy – more... to do. I enjoyed the experience, because everyone was friendly and very helpful. – less

Great product to sell, bad management to run it
Allstate Motor Club Outbound Sales (Current Employee), Loves Park, ILJuly 8, 2013
Pros: you get to do whatever you want
Cons: checks are constantly wrong
The money is good when the calls are good. Management is always changing the rules as they go and do not care about the employees
