Job Purpose:
Assemble complex wiring harnesses and mechanical assemblies according to the schematic drawing provided.
Write and revise Manufacture and Test Procedures, as required. Provide technical support on new projects.

Production duties:
o Write and revise Manufacture and Test Procedures for cables, harnesses, and unit integration
o Assemble complex cables and wiring harnesses according to the schematic/drawing provided
using stripping, cutting, crimping, soldering, and heat shrink techniques
o Assist in design and development of manufacturing process
o Monitor, Collect and record data for R&D projects
o Develop new assembly processes with customer drawings and sample
o Review customer drawings and packages to administer Bill of Material and Drawing
control/revisions
o Source alternate parts and spec tools
o Create CAD, schematics, Bill of Materials and samples
o Training for transition from MPE Development to Production
o Complete quality inspection in accordance with the Quality Procedures established
o Quality Inspection on all production cables, test all finished products
o Quality Inspection on receiving as needed
o Quality record keeping and filing
o Participate in Non-Conformance Investigations
o Must abide by all safety guidelines as posted or communicated, and must report any accidents,
however minor to a Supervisor or Manager
o Interpret specifications
o Prevent the shipment of Non-Conforming goods to the customer
o Make suggestions for the improvement of processes and procedures
o Maintain Customer confidentiality
o Identify qualified R&D projects
o Prepare ECN and DOC for customer drawing/process changes
o Correctly complete required and applicable production forms (electronic or hard-copy),
documents, etc and ensure proper storage and easy retrieval
Other related duties as required or assigned
o May involve some heavy lifting as required

Skills/Qualifications:
· Able to work independently and under pressure
· General Soldering, manual dexterity using hand tools
· Proficiency in Auto CAD at advanced level
· Organized, able to multi-task and excellent communication skills
· Fully understand technical specification including schematics and drawings
· Problem-solving skills (i.e. identify problem causes; determine steps to resolve; assess solution)
· Knowledge and practical experience with computer systems (i.e. Excel, Word)
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Educational/Experience Requirements:
· Qualified Electronic Technologist or Electronic Engineer or equivalent
· Completed related college/university courses in Q/C and CAD Design an asset
· Combination of related experience, training and education in the electronics or cable assembly industry
as a technologist or engineer
