I had a great time working for Schneider National. Drivers were great guys, money was good.
Too bad it didn't last, I was laid off.

Fun place
Driver (Former Employee), Toronto OnDecember 8, 2013
I found the training was good except when it came time to do the SQT. Went out with a training engineer for 7 days, got the training but came back and immediately had to do the SQT. Even after saying I wasn't ready. Failed three times, had to do it three times in a row and after failing the third time was told if I went and got three months exp with – more... another company that they would rehire me and I'd only have to do the SQT. The whole reason I'd gone to them in the first place was because I couldn't get in anywhere else. – less

Sales Account Executive- Logistic Department (Former Employee), Mississauga, ONApril 16, 2012
Pros: opportunity to advance and continuous learning.
I was able to project my talent to the fullest. Management was very support and encouraging to all my ideas and my desire to move up.

The environment was fun and relaxing, the duties and object was very clear. The most enjoyable part of the work was having weekly meeting with colleague and management.

large safety oriented company, but too big for an individual
Driver/Operator (Current Employee), NJJuly 25, 2014
Pros: some good people, large co, steady work
Cons: giant company, some moody people.
My leader and dispatchers were great. they tried to stay positive and help with any situation.
But, I felt that corporate treated me like a number and not an individual.

Driver (Former Employee), Lenexa, KSJuly 20, 2014
Pros: pay
Cons: other drivers
I enjoyed this job because it was a M-F job and salaried with Federal holidays off. The only issue I had is that there was a few drivers that called in a lot and it was up to other drivers to get the deliveries done and the job was easy other than it was a late to overnight job.

Cons: create your own schedule, loved it.
I enjoyed the time i worked for Schneider. But KBR offered me a job making 8X what i was making. But overall good company to excell if you stay at least 10 years plus.

kindergarten for truckers
OTR Truck Driver (Former Employee), Charlotte, NCJuly 7, 2014
Pros: free laundry
Cons: keep you poor
if you're looking to make money and think independently do not work here. They will absolutely not pay you a worthwhile wage. they keep you on a short leash and will not allow you to do anything without their approval. They will send you two places such as New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island etc. and keep you there for 3 weeks. There – more... are no miles to run and lots of traffic to deal with. When I work for them I brought home paycheck that were approximately $200 for the whole week. the only positive thing that I can see about the company is that they have a good driver training program. Some of the instructors are very knowledgeable and really know some good tricks and have great advice about over the road situations that can occur. Once you're done with the training just work for them for about 3 months then getl out of there. Other companies will hire you from there. They are more of the same although most of them will offer you higher pay. Always remember that rate of pay means nothing without miles. All of the major government subsidized companies like Snyder and j b hunt and swift and us express etcetera all will only give you about 2000 miles a week. – less
