I loved hauling freight for wal-mart to walmart stores, however did not like no being home.

I worked a four day on, two day off, 10 hrs a shift position, evenings. As a CSR, we utilized up to 6 programs at a time to perform in the role of assisting the drivers and clients for on-time delivery.

Get in, drive the truck. You don't always go home during your scheduled home time but they mostly get it right.
The dedicated routes can be good or bad depending on which company you deliver for.

I've been driving for Schneider for over 5 years now. I've worked in quite a few lines of business, but their Intermodal division, in my opinion, is where it's at! Excelent pay, great home time, and an understanding and caring support staff (Especially in the Marion, OH yard)

I have found that your success can either be great or very poor depending – more... on your dispatcher though. I've known a few people who've had bad dispatchers and have suffered with poor miles, hometime, and pay. Fortunately though, I've not had those issues.
Overall, I enjoy working for a company like Schneider and would recomend them to anyone looking for a rewarding driving career.

Good company to work for, if your willing to work hard. I was one of the orginal start-up drivers on northeast regional out of Mehoopany,Pa. in 1989. retired in Jan 2011 after 22 yrs. If your a new driver just starting out, this is the company you want to go with, Safety first and always. If you give them a honest days work, they will look after you.

OTR truck driver. Decent work environment but worked alone most of the time. I was all ways on the go so I delt with mostly truckers.

I have been here too long dispatchers don't answer questions. Management makes it impossable to get a bonus. They tell the drivers what they were told to tell them. A good psych job. All they care about is money. 10 years safe driving and 1 million safe miles. It means nothing to this company.

I work with fun, passionate driven people! You get goosebumps when a coworker is recognized In a meeting, or see a colleague retire after 30 years. There are def. some stressful, long days but its worth it! My manager supports me and I know I'll never leave this company!

Driving for schneider is a good job if you can handle the stress of terrible hours, and terrible drivers sharing the road with you. The pay and benefits are great and they hire students who just obtained their CDL.

While the schedule can be testy at times, depending on if you have the right management staff (which we did) the job is very satisfying and enjoyable. The management staff at the Kansas City Intermodal office bent over backwards to help we drivers as much as possible.
