I would definitely describe what I have experienced and learnt about the room division manager and GM I worked with in that property.
(And if you ever chose this workplace, make sure you never try to make a difference as they will tell you the business is running before you come and changes are not accepted. )
It is surprising to learn the ugly nature behind the gorgeously decorated property and the fake smiles. Gladly previous managers have mentioned, no certain manager last there for a year and specifically they changed 4 managers at the same position within a year! and mostly because the amazing lady i am going to tell you about right below!
The room division Manager is very prejudice and manipulating from her professional behavior to her daily behaviours. she is NOT welcoming any foreign workers within our discussion and had racial comments on staffs behind their backs. She creates rumour and "blaming-games" at workplace but not giving any support as a manager role, when incident happens she won't resolve the issue and when things get worst, she blames on staff that they don't have "common sense", and even used the word "silly " to describe staff in a serious manner. Within a few email communication, her unprofessional language and attitude indicate her either poor-educated background or just personality.
She tries her best to confuse and backstab people whom she doesn't like. For example that she never trained me or even just sit down with me but only give a checklist for me, a freshly start manager. HOWEVER, she reports to GM that she has been training with me for a week. What an actress! If you ever had better appearance, you would win the Oscar every year!
She confuses people by giving orders with her emotion involved and never have everyone on the same page. She "encourage" staff to use their judgement then freakout after when she finds the consequences are not as the same as she expected. It is understandable when in a management role , there are something you have to do at off-hour time, however, she doesn't recognize the extra work and pretend she didn't see it.
She is afraid of your decision-making challenger her authority regardless her judgement is right or wrong. How much revenue they have lost because she refused people by simply giving the answer that" they don't look good." And when she approved professionally-dressed escort staying in hotel, she only have "oopsy" to respond this situation.
She has been late frequently but she questions about other people's punctuality which is really ridiculous. She doesn't bother to teach you things you want to know so that she can make you look unprofessional in front of other coworkers and guests. She also take rewards from other people's hard work to make herself good.
As a room division manager who is in charge of both housekeeping and Front office department, She has the worst manner i have ever experienced in my career life. She "sneaks in and out" without saying Hi or bye and for sure never responded Hi or Bye. That is the basic manner not just for being a manager but also for being a normal human being living in the civilization. I wouldn't judge if i was informed that this person is from the bush.
I am extremely curious about how her reputation is within the management team even in the hospitality industry as she has quite a long history staying in this industry.
She is a welcoming lady but she cannot see things with her own eyes but listen to made-up stories and thus she cannot recognize and appreciate the effort the real hard-working employee but the story-teller.
Did I mention they don't have training session and just want to put you right on the spot meantime telling you to take it easy? They had great coworkers who are willing to assist you to know the property but some LADIES don't have patience.
