Responsibilities of the Position
Carry out structural repairs and modifications to company aircraft at SGL's head office in Ottawa and at survey locations worldwide as the need arises;
Carry out survey equipment fabrication /modification encompassing sheet metal, composites and welding (aluminum);
Liaise with the company aeronautical engineering department in a collaborative environment to design and fabricate geophysical equipment;
Consult with the Director of Maintenance in assessing structural repairs on company aircraft;
Maintain a complete and accurate record of work carried out through the company work order system;
Ensure a safe working environment while maintaining a positive attitude toward personal and professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
Aircraft Structures Engineer with an “S” license or an advanced apprentice;
Composite and welding experience is a valuable asset;
Skills interpreting design and repair drawings;
Willingness to travel on short notice to carry out AOG repairs;
Valid Canadian passport and drivers license;
Ability to obtain Transport Canada restricted area pass; and
Available to work after-hours occasionally as required.
