The role of the Bilingual Receptionist is to promptly answer the telephones in a pleasant manner. He / she will be required to utilize excellent communication skills and handle himself / herself professionally with both internal and external customers.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous telephone experience
  • Exceptional communication skills and telephone manners, in both English and French
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and in a team environment
  • Must be able to multi-task and possess strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

Working Conditions

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional overtime required

Primary Accountabilities

  • Answer incoming calls within 3 rings
  • Accurately forward calls to personnel and voice mail
  • Scroll through holding telephone lines every 20 to 30 seconds
  • Greet all customer in a friendly and professional manner

Job Duties

Assist at the Pick-Up Counter, processing pick-ups, returns and customer inquiries

  • Consistently monitor all incoming calls and forward them efficiently and accurately
  • Monitor and assess the call distribution and recommend any improvements
  • Act as a support network for the team by assisting with other office duties
  • Consistently exercise and promote SanMar Canada’s values
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • Work in cooperation and communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Handle confrontational matters in a professional manner
  • Support and respond to SanMar Canada's customers’ needs and requests
  • Work effectively and efficiently under little supervision
  • Keep co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their department
