CATEGORY BUSINESS MANAGER
Responsible to drive all category-related business decisions for local subsidiary over the life cycle of the multiple products in the category. This includes total ownership of product strategy absolute owner for Monthly Sales Targets and Profitability of the category. Role incumbent will be a liaison between Sales, Marcom, Supply Chain, Service, Training, Channel & HQ for all category related matters. Manage Product Management team within the categories to meet overall category objectives.
-Build Mid to Long term Category strategy and take ownership of executing profitably (5%)
-Collaborate with customers, analyze market and competition, conduct product research, and analyze channel inventory to create promo plans for category (5%)
-Oversee the initial market plan (by model/by account) and strategic account plan for all products in category (5%)
-Analyze P&L and drive promo plans within category budget to achieve profit plans (10%)
-Plan with Marcom for in-store POP, advertising, sales communication, merchandising & displays (10%)
-Conduct presentations and attend consensus meeting with sales team (5%)
-Engage with top 10 Customers quarterly with National Account Sales Team to review past promotion success, current market, competitive landscape and to plan future promotional activities and requirements (5%)
-Visit market monthly to ensure proper visibility/representation of all products in the category
-Present latest promo plan and review 3M forecast, flyer ads to customers (5%)
Conduct weekly conference call (Market / Competition / COGs /Product
-Planning) with HQ GBM to align HQ with our Quarterly Business Plan / strategy (5%)
-Manage product life cycle planning including new product launches and end of line initiatives
-Build Product Line-up Strategy and Channel Distribution & Retail Strategy (5%)
-Evaluate price positioning and determine if/when appropriate changes are required and provide direction on customer price lists (5%)
-Arrange PR / press events to improve brand exposure for category and approve specs and messaging for printed/web/ppt/ad mats (5%)
-Provide monthly management reporting for spend, profit, share with fluctuation analysis and commentary (5%)
-Manage P&L on a monthly basis which includes Marketing spend (A&P), O&A spending (5%)
-Yearly planning discussion (MP) with HQ to determine the long term direction of the categories
-Monthly forecast (CMF & 3MF) and monitoring progress against plans weekly (5%)
-Manage Inventory (month end reporting, create programs to move aging inventory, etc.) (5%)
-Submit AP2 forecast (12 week rolling) and AP1/AP2 consensus accountability
-Manage aging stock ratio of the product.
-Bachelor Degree or Masters in Marketing (or equivalent) from a known university
-Strong knowledge of HA products and industry
-Financial background for P&L
-Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications
-A minimum of 6-7 years working in a Product / Business Management role in the Canadian Home Appliance industry
-Experience managing a team of product managers
