Industrial Hygienist Technologists perform some or all of the following duties:
Operate and maintain equipment and apparatus for sampling and completing measurements.
Compile records and interpret experimental or analytical results.
Develop and conduct programs of sampling and analysis.
Assist in the development of standards, procedures, and health and safety measures.
Conduct or assist in assessment of air quality and compliance of standards.
Interact with clients and workers, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Industrial Hygienist Technologists require completion of a two or three year college program in chemical, biochemical or chemical engineering technology or a closely related discipline.
Industrial Hygienist Technologists require completion of a two or three year college program in Occupational Health and Safety.
This position requires the skill and ability to manage sampling and assessments on client sites. You will be required to arrange for the rental or use of sampling equipment, the calibration of such equipment and providing the laboratories with the samples taken. You will also re required to record the data and provide a summary report to the client. All sampling must be done to OH standard. You will be required to sign off on your work that standard is being met.
Additional responsibilities will include writing programs for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and working with Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees. Strong written and verbal communications skills will be required.
This position is based in the Okanagan. Company location is Penticton with extensive work in Kelowna. Can be based in either city.

Training rate $23.00/hr
Wage will be set at $27.50/hr
