Work Setting: Office environment - SafeTech Alarm Systems provides security cameras, security guards, access control & a variety of security protection. A network support technician manages both the physical and virtual aspects of a computer network of our business. In addition, our network support technician also assumes a role of the Internet Web site technician to manage company internet (six websites), as well as intranet, where company information has been stored that is not open to the public.
Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available
Skill Requirements:
Education: University degree in Electrical Engineering (specializing in Telecommunications)
Experience: Two years; must be familiar with Google Apps for Business; Graphic Skills: Adobe Programs: Photoshop CS/CS4/CS5, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Dreamweaver; Web Skills: Wordpress, Joomla, HTML5, CSS3, Web 2.0, Google (Apps, AdWords, Analytics, Webmaster Tools); Social Media Management: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Linkedin; must be able to train and supervise Languages: Speak English, Read English
Job Duties: Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs); Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade Web-server hardware and software; Makes sure data is stored and backed-up on the centralized server on a regular basis; Provide problem-solving services to network users; Manages the day-to-day functions of six company websites, using security monitoring software (AVG), works closely with web developers; makes sure company websites are ranking effectively in search engines; keeps track of the number of "hits," or visits to the sites, as well as a site's conversion rate, or the percentage of hits that generate sales.
Additional Skills: Need to have troubleshooting skills and the ability to think logically; Need to have follow-through regarding completion of tasks; Need to have basic spelling, grammar, punctuation skills, typing, data entry and 10-key skills; need to have a working knowledge of various applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Deadline-driven individual who is able to plan ahead.
