A well known international consumer products company is seeking an experienced Sales Representative. This company is seeking to seize much untapped business potential in Western Canada. This full time position is responsible business in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

You will apply your strong and proven sales and relationship building skills to meet direct and indirect sales goals for all assigned accounts. You will achieve direct and indirect call objectives, including field support of national and regional accounts to maximize purchases of the company's branded product lines. To be successful, you are an experienced salesperson and will learn and apply a broad base of knowledge covering all of the Company’s features and benefits to close sales while proactively developing, monitoring and controlling key initiatives, appropriate budgets, forecasts, including Coop & Performance Allowances, assisting in managing COGs for special and custom packs, pre-packs etc. to fall within desired contribution levels and manage overall trade budget to projected levels in line with percentage of sales targets.

This is an opportunity for a disciplined, self-starter who is motivated by delivering double digit growth in their business. The successful candidate must be able to work responsibly and independently at a distance, including being based out of a home office. He/she must have excellent communication skills that will assist him/her in achieving his/her goals while working with both the National Sales Manager and the head office team in Toronto. This role requires extensive travel to cover the territory, support trade shows and keep in touch with head office. The successful candidate may be based in either Calgary or Edmonton.


  • college diploma, university degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years sales experience
  • history of successfully building a territory
  • current relationships in DIY, automotive or industrial channels are an asset
  • excellent time and financial/budget management skills
  • strong negotiating and relationship building skills; provides win-win on strategy solutions
  • strong multitasking skills a must!
  • possess a valid driver's license
