SSCR Corporate Solutions is currently recruiting for a Financial Controller on behalf of one of our professional corporate clients. Our client is a well established Red Deer company with a stronghold in the Oilfield Maintenance and Construction industry.
The ideal candidate must be well on their way to completing a professional accounting designation, with a solid 3 years of financial management experience. They will operate as a key member of the Senior Management team, and will report directly to the CEO. The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities. This includes direct responsibility for AR/AP, financial reporting, and assisting with forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, job costing, and all project related finance tasks. Being able to adapt to change, and have the ability to 'wear many hats' when required, is key to this position.
Our client does a great deal of contract bid work, so knowledge of the bid process, project work, job costing, and calculating burdens is required. Finding someone who is IT 'savvy', with Simply Accounting knowledge would be advantageous, but our client is more than willing to train the right individual! The successful candidate will be a 'go-getter' who is not afraid of hard work, and who is excited about getting out for site visits to learn what the company does.
