MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
Underground mine shaft systems supplier involved with the design and supply of standard and custom-designed equipment and solutions serving the global mining industry. Working in a fast-paced production engineering team environment with other designers and engineers, the successful candidate will interpret and meet customer specifications and engineering design requirements for the manufacture of major capital orders. The incumbent will be responsible for analytical design, applying various load cases and working within defined dimensional, weight and other constraints, and establishing required details for design integrity of conveyances. The successful incumbent will work closely with others to establish final designs complying with specifications and functional requirements.
Requirements / Expertise:
Seeking a self-motivated intermediate level Mechanical Engineer with strong mechanical aptitude and a minimum of five to ten years experience in design of heavy-duty steel and aluminum equipment and structures, preferably in relation to the underground mining industry. The candidate shall be proficient in the use of SolidWorks and be well versed in Microsoft Office application software. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge and experience in STAAD design and/or SolidWorks Simulation, as well as familiarity with provincial Mining Regulations. A skilled individuals exercising self-initiative, possessing abilities to arrive at innovative and practical design solutions, having strong communications skills, and demonstrating strong organizational qualities.
