Daily Objectives: Read drawings (follow instructions) on masking off areas where paint is not to be applied. Select and use various types of hand tools, abrasive sandpapers and grinders to prepare surfaces for painting. Prepare and mix coating materials in accordance with coating manufacturer specs. Prepare, set-up, test, paint spraying equipment prior to use, ensure all equipment is in working order. Apply coatings in a uniform thickness to required spec with minimal rework required afterward Clean all paint spraying equipment upon completion of use, and report any defective parts to the supervisor. Apply coatings to metal surfaces of fabricated parts, structures, tanks, utilizing correct spraytips and equipment Measure coating film thicknesses wet and dry as required by job specifications. Collect solvents & waste paints then empty into 45gal drums, wearing appropriate PPE. When drums are ¾ full, seal lids and shrink wrap on skids for transport. Provide assistance on jobs as required to ensure customer service and production levels Perform other functions as directed by supervisor
*Qualifications: Requirements: Experience with airless, air-assisted, conventional, electrostatic, pressurized air spray, high volume-low pressure, plural component paint spray equipment, thermal spray, brush or roller. Basic understanding and be able to recognize surfaces acceptable for painting Able to lift 50lbs repeatedly, perform physically demanding work Able to work overtime as required to meet production levels Willingness to work outside, and in dirty or hot/cold environments Able to be on feet all day (walking, standing, crouching) Comprehension of basic product specifications, PPE, safety procedures Comprehension of instructions relating to specific project, such as marking details, masking instructions.*
