Cutting age software company
Executive Solution Advisor (Current Employee), São Paulo, SPApril 17, 2013
Pros: i am always learning something new
Cons: it is difficult to balance work and life time
Nowadays I am working as a PLM presales and my responsabilities are:
- Understand the customer/prospect necessities;
- Construct a scenario for the customer/prospect in SAP system based in their necessities and in how SAP can make their work runs better;
- Demonstrate the scenario for the customer/prospect in order to sell them the best solution.
I – more... have been learning about several SAP solutions and market industries.
As SAP is a integrated system, I work a lot with other consultants or presales. Teamwork is a requirement for this job.
The hardest part of my job is the difficult in balancing work and life time because of the opportunities volum and missing senior professionals to work with.
The best thing of working in SAP is because it is a very cutting age software company and I am always learning somethng new. Furthermore, in SAP, everyday is a different day. – less

Typical HardCore Sales Role
SALES EXECUTIVE (Former Employee), Vancouver, BCDecember 22, 2012
Pros: income potential
Cons: being treated like your a child
Every Q-end they tell you how this is the most critical qtr of the year and try to work you to death..if you're on top the managers are your best friends but stay there b/c you can go from HERO to ZERO in one week.. And they treat you like a stranger.

If you hot your number you should be making from 100-150 depending on multipliers..

Since SAP bought – more... out BusinessObjects the culture is horrible because of the stress from the geniuses in upper management. – less

Good company to work for bu management need to be clearer
Senior Software Developer (Former Employee), Los Angeles, CAApril 2, 2014
All in all SAP is a good company in regard to everything but management.

Main problem is that the company's direction is not very clear. Multiple e-mails from multiple managers flood your inbox up to the point that you don't really want to read them.

This company needs to completely restructure itself if it wants to survive.The only thing keeping them afloat right now is their acquisitions. They have trouble developing product in house.

Enjoy the work/life balance with the flexibility to work from home
Project Manager (Current Employee), Atlanta, GAMarch 14, 2014
Pros: free lunch, work from home, gain great experience
Cons: a lot of redundancy in processes and work effort, growth limited
SAP is a great place to gain experience if you are early to mid-point in your career and in Facilities/ Corporate Real Estate industry. You get to work on a range of projects, you gain a lot of experience. It's a fast-paced environment, so you have to adapt to change quickly. A few negatives is that if you want to grow and advance beyond a mid-level – more... point (and want salary to grow with it) opportunities are limited - but they will most certainly pile on the work. Costs for external training, ( to stay knowledgable about Industry) to grow career is scrutenized at the highest level. Internal training in this niche is rarely available since the company is focused more on Software Applications & Products (SAP) and the sales, consulting, and development that support these applications and products. – less
