Everyday, the work that we do at The Royal transforms the lives of people with mental illness by delivering excellence in specialized mental health care, advocacy, research and education.
Our team is made up of over 1400 employees, many of whom are mental health professionals with expertise in areas such as psychiatry, psychology, nursing, social work, and counseling. Our administrative team is also made up of skilled professionals and we have a large and dedicated team of volunteers that help support our work as well.

At The Royal, we encourage our employees to pursue excellence in their careers and support them in doing so through an innovative learning and development program. The program offers a variety of seminars and workshops in both traditional and e-learning formats in a learning centre that boasts a 180-seat auditorium, classrooms with full multimedia integration, and a dedicated computer training facility. Courses include topics that relate to clinical care (i.e. crisis intervention) and workplace skills (i.e. effective communication and conflict resolution) as well as language training and wellness topics (i.e. how to create balance in your life).
