SEEKING EXPERIENCED LPN AS NURSE EDUCATOR.
Royal Oak Village provides seniors with opportunities to live life to the fullest by operating a Seniors Independent and Assisted Living Community in Lacombe, AB. We are currently seeking a NURSE EDUCATOR: FTE 0.6.
The Nurse Educator is responsible for providing and facilitating education for Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides. Teaching strategies and content is based on principles of adult learning, to ensure that clinical competencies and organizational standards/practices are maintained. The Nurse Educator facilitates, coordinates and supports educational initiatives for orientation, mandatory education and in-service to promote clinical competence of staff. This position also expedites changes in policy, procedure, protocols and technology to promote competence of staff. The Nurse Educator collaborates with the management team to develop and implement new policies/procedures and standards, staff development plans, and training/education sessions to address specific learning needs. Participates on committees and working groups to plan, develop and implement new policies, procedures, practices and initiatives, and to provide input on educational requirements. The Nurse Educator acts as a role model and resource to all staff for professional development and clinical competency. The Nurse Educator is responsible and accountable for his/her nursing practice as defined by the college and adheres to his/her employer’s policies/procedures.
- Graduate in Licensed Practical Nursing Program with current license to practice in the Province of Alberta
- Experience as an adult educator an asset
- Proficiency in computer skills including Power Point, Microsoft Office, e-mail and internet
- Current active clinical experience in Geriatrics
- Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written
- Certificate in Geriatrics an asset
