We represent a privately held Ottawa-based company that designs and manufacturers tools and engineered solutions for the building industry. Our client is a small business, with approximately 12 employees, that has established a recognized brand name in its market. This position is intended to be the senior financial resource in the company and an integral part of the management team that is built to execute on ambitious growth plans.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President - Operations, the responsibilities of this position include:
*directing the company’s financial accounting and reporting activities
*managing accounting and administration department staff
*corporate tax, ITCs and other regulatory filings
*develop and implement internal controls
*forecasting and budgeting
*cost and departmental accounting
*cash flow management
*supplier credit management
*review and management of all material contracts
*operational assistance and support as required
*customer credit management
*human resource administration and payroll
*intellectual property administration
*supporting senior management team with financial data and operational advice
To qualify you must be a designated accounting professional in Canada with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
The ideal candidate has a strong general accounting background, is comfortable working in a manufacturing and distribution industry, and is willing to roll up the sleeves to get things done in a small business.
Proficiency in SAGE ACCPAC is an asset.
