We are interested in hiring an individual to sell Travel Services, at Rome Travel Agency Inc.,
We are looking to employ an individual who is motivated, efficient, and has already had previous experience in the travel industry, and who is specifically
comfortable with the Amadeus system for real time quotations/booking.
Pre-Requisites for Employemnt:
*Minimum of 2-years experience of Amadeus knowledge required (must be ready to use the system, immediately at the time of hire)
*Fluent in English
- Comfortable with Ticketing, exchanges, Phase IV ( group travel/ticketing experience useful)
*Word, Excel and Outlook knowledge needed.
*Car, rail and hotel booking experience (Amadeus and online) extremely helpful.
*We will train on cost savings, invoicing and reporting.
*We will provide training on online booking engines and other travel management and travel policy systems.
*80% All work is by phone, and/or email -other 20% is Walk-in.
*S/he is able to work alone and with others (the majority will be in own space/cubicle where the individual is responsible for his/hers own booking/clients.
*Dresses in business/casual or smart casual attire.
*Responsible for his work space (tidy and organized)
Qualities need or expected:
*Able to multi-task.
*Handles Pressure well.
*Able to present/work with powerpoint presentations for conferences
*Comfortable speaking infront/to clients on an individual or large group basis
S/he has the the knowledge and ability to:
a) Create domestic and international travel itineraries (air, car, hotel, rail, and other transportation/ transfers) for travelers and travel arrangers in individual/group setting. This is accomplished through the GDS (and all other resources) by offering alternate routings, utilizing scripts and the standard workflow process, applying vendor contracts, and storing airfares.
b) Ensure travel/documentation etc. complies with the clients’ travel policy, supports preferred vendors, and meets the travelers’ requests.
c) Communicate (via phone, fax, e-mail, in person, or mail) all necessary information to travelers and travel arrangers to ensure all expectations are met:
This information includes:
i) domestic travel itineraries, fare rules and regulations, confirmation numbers, cancellation policies, prepaids, code shares, upgrades, passenger preferences, industry updates, clients’ travel policies, and credit card verifications, as well as destination and delivery information.
ii) Will produce airfare savings bulletins and will ensure accurate arrival and departure list is provided.
ii) Communicate international travel information at time of booking and provides supporting documents to which includes: visa/passport requirements, department of justice traveler alerts, medical requirements, GTM locations and phone numbers, embassy locations, international flight services, and international destination information (time zones, rail, currency/exchange, culture, customs, and government) and includes in documentation the following: client reporting information (udids), special remarks, future pricing lines, itinerary remarks, split ticket information, visa/passport requirements, connect times, and delivery information.
iii) Ensures safety, compliance with countries’ laws, and provides services for comfort.
iv) Maintains team and individual queues to ensure tickets are complete, accurate and have been issued.
v) The documentation ensures the following: price quotes are ticketed; commissions are maximized; delivery expectations are met; management has the necessary information to manage the clients’ travel program; and all travel consultants can service a client at any stage in the reservation process.
