No Job Security
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  London, ONAugust 18, 2016
No matter your tenure, I constantly felt like I had no job security, There were multiple occasions where I didn't get my commission on time. The people that you work with are the best part about the job. Had some good experiences with managers, but also dealt with many who didn't know how to run their store. Horribly under compensated for the amount of product knowledge you are expected to know.

Typical Call Centre
Technical Support (Cable) (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ONAugust 5, 2016
Typical call centre environment. Management only spoke to you once a week. Will take years to improve your scheduled shift, let alone career advancement.
Cons

Great Pay for a entry level and mid level job
Dispatcher/Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Toronto, ONJuly 27, 2016
Pay wise - its great, but you get very little job satisfaction. The company consistently advertises "THE FASTEST MOST RELIABLE INTERNET.." typical propaganda. Yet the systems that are used are abysmal. Your local management sets unrealistic goals and expects you to meet them, despite the fact that computers are out of date, they are slow, they crash, wifi in the offices drop repeatedly and how funny is this, we lose internet all together in the office - direct connect and wifi. Some people might say getting paid to reboot your PC 8 times a day for almost $72,000 is pretty darn good. But you truly leave unaccomplished. Mainly because your entire day is set up for you to fail.

Typical day, i walk in, try to find a functioning station, probably log into 2 or 3 PCs before settling on one that sucks the least.
Wait 30 mins before it boots up.

Get bombarded with emails that you are expected to reply within 10mins, yet are not provided with the tools to comply - because you sit and stare and at white screens and software that says "not responding" all day.

Management hides in cubicles, ive been in my department for 10 months now, and the 5 managers in this office have said a combined maybe 10 words to me. They'll only pop out if you have failed an unrealistic metric.

What Ive learned is, time is more valuable then money. Best part is leaving because i can go do what i want.

72,000k a year is a nice looking pay cheque. but for what its worth, not feeling accomplished, not having job satisfaction, not having any leeway truly is painful and 72,000 isn't enough.

This company doesn't promote "LIFE" everyone is so mindless robots just getting our heads squeezed.

The first opportunity I can get to leave, im taking it.

OH FYI, the cafeteria! EXPENSIVE - 79cents for 1 Banana!
meanwhile you can get a pound of bananas for 79c
Where are they getting them, from Whole FOODS???

Pros
Paid to be Mindless.
Cons
no sense of accomplished, no job satisfaction

Great staff members, and flexible hours
Sales Representative (Current Employee) –  Kitchener, ONJuly 14, 2016
Overall not a bad place to work. Hours are very flexible and management tries to work around your availability. Team members are great and we all get along and work together. Can sometimes be taxing to continuously deal with angry customers. There needs to be better management training so that more coaching and team leadership is present at our location. Overall great part time job!
Pros
Flexible hours, Great team members
Cons
Dealing with angry customers, lack of proper management

Rogers is like Family
Customer Service and Sales Consultant (Current Employee) –  Pickering, ONJuly 7, 2016
Rogers has been an amazing work environment from the moment I started in Oct 2014, although a large site everyone is on a first name basis from Senior Managers to colleagues. There's always news, changes and something exciting to look forward to.

Good work culture at first, but everyone good left and all that remained was hate
Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ONJune 27, 2016
Crushingly brutal sales cycle, no job security, and no fun. Only redeeming qualities were compensation and a great culuture (at first), but the market for the product became saturated, pay dropped off, and the culture died as a result of most the veterans leaving.

The good, the bad , and the ugly
Collections (Former Employee) –  Toronto, ONMay 31, 2016
Typical call centre environment

The good
Overtime (although they have cut back a lot)
Quarterly bonus (cut back as well)
Job security.they need the front line guys .less likely to get laid off
Don't take your work home (even when you speak to the most annoying Cx..maybe the first 10 minute after your shift it bothers you..but after that all is forgotten)
Co workers..call centre staff have character..while cooperate people bore you to death
You get to collect a pay-check ..you don't wear the company

The bad
Upper management and back offices are lost..too removed from the customer experience ..come up with dumb policies and six month later scrap the idea
Rogers charges too much and you have to bear the brunt of from the Cx..defending system and billing errors..(in the back of your mind agreeing w the Cx but defending Rogers)

The Ugly
Call quality..the most useless department ..the only department that's takes away from the customer experience instead off adding (can't believe this department still exist in 2016
Really unorganized at times ..(again) as most back offices are lost ..peers know more then anyone else so you just ask each other
Everything that goes w working in a call centre
Pros
Job security
Cons
Needs a back office/strategy office face lift

Monotonous
Wireless Customer Service Specialist, ICT (Former Employee) –  St. John's, NLMay 28, 2016
Answering customer inquiries and billing issues

That customers want to be treated with respect and understanding

Management very difficult when it came to asking for support

Co-works were good to work with and rely on when needed

Hardest part was trying to calm a customer down who would not listen to reason

Most enjoyable was making a customer feel like they are happy with the service provider they have chosen and confident there issues have been resolved.
Pros
Intensives on sales
Cons
Dealing with irate customers

Brand representative (Former Employee) –  Woodbridge, ONMay 27, 2016
This was a third party company for Rogers, yet the staff is very knowledgable. Unless you work evening or weekends, the days are usually very slow. Then again, that's the time used for training and preparation.
