Position Overview

The HSE Coordinator is responsible to perform reporting, risk assessments and auditing and observes all HSE activities and policies within a region. Safety is critical in all Rockwater Operations and this position plays a key role in ensuring the safety of Rockwater staff, customers and the public by being a leader in safety behaviour and communication.

Responsibilities

Support Rockwater through routine field inspections to ensure that all operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner and in conformance to provincial/federal safety regulations by integrating and implementing company and third-party QHSE policies and procedures;

Performs accident investigations and communicates with the HSE Regional Manager and others until all action items are closed;

Assists in new hire orientations and ensure proper field level training;

Files HSE documents and participate in job risk analysis and continual improvements in a region;

Likely to provide support as an HSE Generalist or a specialist with a particular focus in the area of HSE, e.g. environmental, transportation, training etc.;

Conduct safety meetings;

Ensure all incidence reports are documented in Simply Safety by the person involved, the HSE Coordinator then documents their findings and signs off accordingly in Simply Safety;

Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Experience

Five or more years’ experience working with Health, Safety and Environmental systems;

Experience and knowledge in the following areas: fluids hauling, vacuum trucks, pressure truck,
hoisting, lifting and tank farm inspections;

Valid H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, IRP 16 (PST) training;

Strong interpersonal skills- written and verbal communication, tact, diplomacy. Honesty, patience,
judgment and understanding;

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

Excellent computer skills including MS office, database tools and web-based applications;

Ability to work independently and make decisions combined with the ability to work as part of a team, to communicate and share information;

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and practices;

Knowledge of company policies and practices.

Ability to handle a large, complex workload with numerous interruption;

On-call availability required;

Travel will be required.
