In this exciting opportunity, you will have the chance to further grow and expand your HR Generalist knowledge and experience – overseeing and assisting with all functions of the Human Resources department for the approximately 700 employees located across Northern BC and Alberta.
-Assist in the development, implementation and interpretation of Human Resources policies and procedures
-Educate and coach management on Human Resources policies and procedures
-Assist Managers and Supervisors with employee relations issues including investigation of complaints, addressing concerns and the performance management process where needed
-Full cycle recruitment including: creating job postings, collecting applications, screening candidates, interviewing candidates and preparing and negotiating offers of employment
-Complete the Labor Market Opinion (LMO) process for foreign workers as required
-Liaise with third parties for the disability management programs including WCB, STD and LTD
-Participate in benefits communications to all employees
-Help to identify opportunities for training and development for all employees
-Assist with developing a document management system and process for the HR department
-Keep up to date on Human Resource best practices through education opportunities offered in the professional community
-Travel to branch locations as required
-Other duties as assigned
-Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline
-8 + years of general Human Resource experience across a variety of HR disciplines and functions
-Completed CHRP designation or pursuing the designation
-Some HRIS knowledge and experience is an asset
-Detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively
-Have the ability to build relationships of trust very quickly and become the department “go to” for day to day challenges
-Ability to think strategically, make recommendations and influence positive outcomes
-Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision
-Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel
