The Intermediate Design Engineer/Technologist turns projects into realities. It is through your thorough understanding and application of engineering methodology, combined with your ability to flourish within design teams, that you deliver designs of superior quality, reliability, simplicity, and safety.
Duties & Responsibilities
-Assemble, direct, & motivate junior engineering resources comprised of; Engineering, Detailing, & Sublet Services towards the successful completion of deliverables as defined within the Project Charter.
-Develop project-specific scope-of-design and design deliverables in alignment with the Project Charter and the needs of the client.
-Identify all applicable and ensure compliance to industry guidelines & standards as defined by regulatory agencies.
-Participate in frequent, formal design review meetings with design teams to ensure outputs continually satisfy design goals including functionality, reliability, quality, budget, & timeline.
-Apply industry-accepted engineering practices and methodology towards the successful completion of design deliverables.
-Travel and site-work as demanded by the project.
-Feasibility evaluations, estimating, risk assessments.
-B.A.Sc. Degree or Technical Diploma from a recognised university or technical institute in the field of Mechanical / Industrial / Electrical Engineering.
-Proven track record illustrating successful leadership of cross-functional work teams. Preference will be given to those with formal training in Leadership or Group Facilitation.
-3 to 7 years of practical, applied engineering design experience relating to industrial equipment including machine design, mechanical, fluid power, electrical & automation, or mechatronics disciplines.
-Preference will be given to candidates who possess direct work experience within industrial trades (i.e. welder, machinist, mechanic, etc.), or who have spent considerable time working within these environments.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Thorough understanding and hands-on experience using 3D modeling/design software (i.e. Autodesk products or equivalent).
-Proficient with MS Office suite products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
-Must be eligible to work in Canada
