Robertson College Winnipeg requires an instructor for the Legal Assistant program.
Qualified candidates would be lawyers (members of the Law Society of Manitoba) or Legal Assistants/Paralegals with a minimum of 2 years of experience and post-secondary education in the Legal Assistant field.
The Legal Assistant program of Robertson College, Winnipeg, includes the following courses: Civil Litigation, Corporate & Commercial Law, Family Law, Wills & Estates, Real Estate & Conveyancing, Legal Office Procedures, Legal Transcription, Legal Fundamentals and Terminology, and Legal Software. Qualified candidates will have a sufficient level of understanding in these program areas.
Robertson College graduates in this program can expect to qualify for positions as Legal Assistants, Legal Secretaries, Office Administrators, Executive Assistants, Receptionists and Administrative Assistants.
Instructor candidates must have strong computer, interpersonal, communication, organizational and time management skills. Teaching experience is preferred but not essential as there are teacher training resources available for the right candidate.
Under general supervision, this position works with students and is responsible for delivering course content in a dynamic and engaging manner, recording student attendance and student marks, designing, implementing and correcting assignments/projects/tests, and actively contributing to updating course curriculum and following curriculum as defined by provincial regulating bodies, as well as observing and adhering to all College policies and best practices.
